You And I - Rick James (1978)

"You And I" was the name of a hit song for R&B/funk musician Rick James, released from his debut album, "Come Get It! ". It spent two weeks at number one on the Billboard R&B charts and reached number thirteen on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978. "You And I" also peaked at number three on the disco chart. "Come Get It! " was Rick James' debut album on Motown sub-label Gordy Records. Released in April of 1978, the singles "You And I" and "Mary Jane" pushed "Come Get It! " to double platinum status. This channel is dedicated to all the great 'old school' R&B music I grew up with, the stuff that originally made me tap my feet and want to be a DJ. Funk, soul, disco, R&B, dance, hip-hop, pop . . . 60s, 70s, 80s . . . whatever you call it, it's all 'Old School' and it's all here!
