Campaigners for Palestinian Rights held a protest inside a Tescos store in London UK on 30 March 2011 on Palestine Land Day. Tescos is one of the UK's largest supermarket chains and sells products from Israel and Illegal Settlements. The action is part of the ongoing international campaign for Boycott Divestment and Sanctions to end Israel's occupation of Palestine

  • Tesco like all UK supermarkets stock Israeli produce. BUT more and more shoppers are refusing to buy Israeli and Settlement product. So much so that Israeli company Agrexco - which is responsible for about 70% of exports from the illegal Settlements- has gone bust. An Irish company was going to buy what is left of Agrexco but pulled out after campaigners wrote to it saying it would become a target of the global Boycott Divestment and Sanctions movement if it bought Agrexco.

  • I think you misunderstand . The protesters are not anti-Jewish. In fact a number of them are Jews, The protest is part of the worldwide campaign in support of human rights and the up-holding of international law in relation to Palestinians. Like the campaign against Apartheid South Africa, ordinary citizens are being encouraged to take an ethical stand and boycott product from Israel to show their disapproval of the policies and actions of the state of Israel.

  • I am afraid you misunderstand. The campaigners are not anti-Jewish. In fact a number of Jewish protesters took part in the action. The protesters are campaigners for human rights and the up-holding of international law. Their targets are the actions and policies of state of Israel and successive Israeli governments that have continually sought to deny Palestinians their basic human rights and freedoms.

  • sick and delusional people. I now specifically purchase Israeli products and will not be intimated by you and your pathetic behaviour.

  • @claytom31 I must make clear that we are targeting educated people with a conscience. You do not fit this category and so you have my sincere apologies and sympathy. Have a nice day.

  • If you want to boycott Israel (which is impossible), pleas, learn first about the Israeli-palestine conflict, from BOTH sides.

I know its easy to hate and shout, I was in this dark place too.

If you still want to boycott Israel, go for it, but I will still saying YOU'R WRONG.

  • @salimalam yeahhhhh way to go

    you're amazing :D

  • It goes to show that you actually do not know what you are talking about. Agrexco has not gone bust due to people not buying products. Quite the opposite. It has gone bust down to poor mismanagement by the top bosses. I know this for a fact as a member of my family works for Agrexco. There was never an Irish buyer, there have been several Israeli buyers and a German one and even an American. It has been sold. But no Irish buyer was put off by the so called action of your group.

  • What does Tesco have to do with Palestine?

  • @siaea1 Boycott Divestment and Sanctions campaign is doing great thanks. So much so that Israel has introduced anti-democratic laws to outlaw the call for boycott! The BDS movement has brought Israeli company Agrexco to its knees - and stopped an Irish company buying it. Israeli cosmetics firm Ahava has been forced to shut down its flagship store in Covent Garden, London. And French company Veolia has just lost a 300 million pound contract because of its complicity in Israel's Occupation.

  • Hallow London.

So, tell me, how's that Israeli boycott working out for ya?

    haaaaa?

  • Jews ,always lived in the holy land 3500 years,

read about KINGDOM OF ISRAEL AND KINGDOM OF JUDAH

    see old maps ,historical evidence.

the real truth, Arabs came from Arabia, in 1948 war most Palestinians came from Jordan to west bank and invaded to holy land ,they took Jews homes, and killed them.

in 1922 by British Palestine mandate, Palestinians got 77% from the land , the state name is JORDAN.

Palestinians !!!!!! go back to yours homes GAZA AND JORDAN.

    yours family wait you there.
