  • Thank you! My father was one of these braceros and every time I asked him for some information he was spechless and his eye's would fill with tears. I have all his Information and papers. He has passed away but finally I Know Why he had back problems. He would tell us about the cold in the fields and his back pain. Thank you very much.

  • This is like gulag only in america...

  • @chinary8 What changed was the World War II. America went to war, farmers were needed while general American population joined the military. USA needed skilled farmers to do the work American population didn't want to do or didn't have the time or the skill to do. I hope this helps. We are studying this in our History class.

  • This is great. Thank you!!

  • Why did they bring so many workers in when just a few years earlier they couldn't employ all the okies. What changed?

  • You really brought out a lot of great information that I have not encountered elsewhere. Nice work. I have a bracero video on YouTube ("Braceros at 80") too and am about to do a book of the portraits I have made. You input would be welcome.

  • TO the creator of this video: I liked it soooooooo much. So much in fact, that I assume you are a professional maker of greatness. Someday, I hope to shake your hand, and congratulate you on behalf of me, and my fellow... well basically, just on behalf of me. I think this should be on the History Channel as a new documentary. If you need any help making any connections- I know TWO guys.

  • Amazing. Fantastic. Incredible. Wonderful. One for the history books. Speaking of, is the History Channel looking for a new documentary? I think this one would be great. I'm going to recommend it to at least 4200 sources- I know a guy.
