Got a good, used effect pedal last weekend. Plugged my organ into it, tweaked a little around and - WOW! My Elka X-705 turns into an Eminent 310 U with Smallstone Phaser.
The phasing pad sounds a little different from the original, but I like it very much. So this tune is a bit longer than the other ones... I really got lost in these spherical sweeping sounds.

The song was played live, but I decided not to record me while playing - the quality of the sound going through the cam would be too bad. Also, my cables were transmitting weird hissing noises while the cam was running. So I just recorded the audio directly into Audition.

This video shows some details of the organ and my favourite inspiration source - the sky! All the pics are taken by me, no photoshopping or any other kind of image processing (except resizing them for the vid) was done.

If anyone wants to have the mp3 of this or some of the pics, don't hesitate to contact me via PM! ;)

  • Great!!

Which effects did you apply to the Elka?

  • Ok, the Digitech does a pickup simulation (for softening the sound) the phasing (of course!) and some EQing (treble lifted to the max, midrange and bass slightly damped) and Delay+Reverb.

The Korg makes a Random Step Filter with flanging and a small amount of overdriving.

I was also surprised what these little boxes can do with an organ! They're designed for guitars, but I misuse them for other electronic audio signals...

  • Thanks for posting this piece. You've inspired me to go back in the studio and just play for fun instead of for money.

  • Was spielst denn du da alles zusammen?

  • The intro sounds like Leftfield!

  • bravo!very nice sounding.

  • Music corresponds to the clouds ...

  • Very well done, this is great. Thank you Triursaighead!.

  • This one sounds very good. great job.

    regards chris

  • Great dreamy tune man :D I got this organ too in my studio (and Eminent 310, EHX Smallstone included) with it's "bigger-brother" Elka 707 organ. Same thing but in wooden organ cabinet and built-in Leslie.
