Just got this antenna in the air, tightened all the bolts up yesterday and today it got its big test. We are 450' above sea level here on a hill top and no trees around us so the winds hit pretty hard. Still more tower modifications to do but the wind has me stalled for a few days I think. Seems to be handling the winds very well, Mario, VK3NI's suggestion of pointing the elements directly into the wind stops the gusty winds from moving the antenna back and forth a great deal. The elements seem to almost enjoy the bend they for into and of course, bounce back when needed.
As someone who has had my criticisms of Steppir Antennas over the years, this one seems to be quite an interesting and successful design. The One man tower by Kev, VK4KKD of One man towers is just rock solid, and Kevs continual support of this project is a complete affirmation of a company who believes in Total Customer Satisfaction, the guys a genius!!!!!!!! Thanks Kev!!!!
