@SwobyJ Statistically, maybe, but the numbers aren't large enough to be relevant. Romney doesn't need to attack Paul because Paul is not a threat. He cannot win the Republican nomination. He doesn't take votes from Romney. Nothing to gain by attacking him.

@eBe4IXcept I'm talking about the current statistical situation. Anyone 'stands a chance' at rising upward, but it is mostly right now between Romney and Paul (which is partially why they are nearly acting buddy-buddy), with Romney with the clear advantage in votes and delegate counts. There are too many that are loyal to Paul (no, it's not 'fringe', but its also not 'majority') for Romney to make a target out of him (yet?).

@SwobyJ It's not a Romney vs Paul race unless the conservative base is able to ignore the fact that Paul wants to legalize drugs and emasculate the military. Not likely. They can pretend for a bit that they like Gingrich but ultimately Gingrich is too despicable. Perry is too dumb. Huntsman is a Mormon without any Mo. The two man race could only be with Santorum, and he's a northeast Catholic who looks like some real candidate's kid brother.
