Pride began some 30 years ago as a small local march and has grown into a nationally and internationally recognized parade and festival bringing thousands of people into the streets of Vancouver's West End. In the last three decades Pride has grown into the one of Vancouver's premier events and Canada's longest running parade. A profound legal and cultural struggle over the years has brought the freedom and equality we celebrate and share today. The Vancouver Pride Society, in celebrating 30 years, wants to ensure that reflection upon the struggles and sacrifices made to achieve this milestone are not forgotten.

The Newpaper claimed that 600,000 showed up to watch this thing last week. That is 25% of the city. RUBBISH!!! More like 100,000 tops. I find this whole hting totally disgusting, as do the other 2.3 million people who weren't interested in watching it
