  • @KakiharaVoorhees Hooke said it: Young proved it. There is quite a difference.

  • It should be said on the movie how important this double-slit experiment was. This experiment enabled people to understand the nature of light a a wave, enabling quicker development of all radio devices and optical telecommunication that nowadays runs the internet.

  • Great information, but I had trouble getting my teeth to unclench after the description of the eye measuring experiment! I remember doing the double slit experiment in high school.

  • didnt newton stick pins in his eyes to see what happened?

  • @jeebersjumpincryst you should sub to periodictable videos

  • weird. even tho im subbed, these fav scientist series never show up in new subscriptions list. maybe it was uploaded yesterday while youtube was doing site maintenance.

And - the double slit experiment and its implications i personally find to be easily the most fascinating and mind bogglingly mysterious phenomenon in all of physics science. didnt Feynman say it pretty much underpins all of quantum electro dynamics....?

Thanks for another superbly realised vid you guys! (Brady and Wayne) :)

  • "To challenge is very, very important, it is the essence of science".

Preach brother, The tragedy, of course today Young would still be loudly derided as corpuscle-denier, despite all the history, we still somehow overlook that vital essence. Science is a direction, not a location.

Listed, the diverse eclectic accomplishments of people like Young, you also can't escape the sense that for the clear gains from increased specialisation, we might just have somehow somewhere lost just a little too.

  • That eye thing is gross.

  • The shit he did for science.... lol

  • I believe that at the same time as Newton, Hooke said that light moves in waves... so... I don't see whats so great about Young.
