The song is not about killing people, the video is. Neither the video or the song is about getting dumped. So in answer to your question: yes.
-
I get it: she's gone into a psychopathic killing spree because her song catchy-ass song has become permanently stuck in her head (hence the constant toe-tapping & singing).

@ChindlerOntheRoof I didn't say the act is more acceptable, I said that light-hearted depiction of it in art is more acceptable. I assure you that nobody involved with the song/video (me & Katy) were thinking "fuck men" when we created either. If your contention is that "making light of all violence is bad" then that's OK and you are entitled to your opinion and are encouraged to perceive this video however you want. But that perception does not jibe with our actual intent.

@bradyhallvideos It is a logical fallacy to think that just because something negative happens less that it is more acceptable, I'll spare you any examples although there are an infinite amount. In the video she kills only males. She is saying "fuck men". This is misandry. The issue is not necessarily with the video itself(freedom of speech and all), but with your admission, and the general acceptance that female on male violence is fine because they're just balancing the murder meter. Get it?

@ChindlerOntheRoof It may feel like a double standard to you, but its not a level playing field. Its not a question of "making light of violence is bad", but more of a "making light of female to male violence is more acceptable because it does not occur in anything even close to the numbers that male to female violence occurs". Anything can be fun or funny in a certain context, but some things are so grievously unresolved that they are less acceptable than others. Get it?
-
@bradyhallvideos The video is still evidence of a double-standard which is the resultant of male stereotypes, and essentially misandry. People pissed their pants over Monster, which is not even close to this level of gore, but when roles are reversed it's all good.

Cool that you had a thought, but maybe have another one about why your first thought was crappy. I reject 99% of comments because they are hateful and based simply on "that is a woman". I let Abadrobus' and yours on so I could rebutt. The only way attitudes will ever change is if people speak up about why wrong things are wrong. So if you don't like "feminist views" being "pushed" someplace, then feel free to..... not read the comments. Or better yet, think before you speak!

Omg definitely can't watch this again... I'd definitely listen though.
