Oprah's Soul Series. On December 10, 1996, at age 37, Jill awoke with intense pain behind her left eye—a blood vessel had exploded in the left hemisphere of her brain and she was having a stroke.

The experience was life-changing. Not only did Jill face years of recovery after her stroke—and major brain surgery to remove a large blood clot in her brain—she also discovered a better quality of life through increased use of the right hemisphere of her brain. She's now an artist as well as a scientist, creating anatomically correct stained-glass replicas of brains that are sold as fine art. She's also published My Stroke of Insight: A Brain Scientist's Personal Journey . The book explains in scientific detail exactly what happened during Jill's stroke and how she recovered. It also takes a closer look at how the right hemisphere of the brain works and how Jill says people with normal brains can access it to find their own inner peace and improve their quality of life and the lives of others.

Taylor has an incredible way of describing things but Oprah tries to bring it down to the understanding of the majority. Both do a great job. Oprah is not dumb, she just knows how to reach people.

First off, her name is spelled, Oprah, and not, Opra. Secondly, it is hard to explain spiritual connection. Personally, I did not pick up "a great (covert) need to be superior" when Oprah spoke in this interview. I no longer "tune in" to this type of thing. Long ago, when I did, I may have seen what you experienced. But I think it is more about the what we are looking though in ourselves that determine how we sense each other. Carefulcarpenter, do you understand this notion?

I'm sure Oprah completely understands - as a real communcations pro should, she's merely breaking it down for mass audiences and in doing so, protecting Dr Bolte-Taylor from potential accusations and all kinds of abuse. In my opinion, she's being very clever and helpful. There is no need for her to prove anything at this stage in her career. Jill being a scientist, she may not realise that most people might find her choice of words too eclectic or complex.

@carefulcarpenter Look at Trump now saying that unless the economy doesn't improve he'll be 'forced' to run for President. Taking back the jobs from china will be 'easy', although he didn't mention how it would be 'easy'. Nothing to do with his ego trip whatsoever. Sadly, if Justin Bieber ran for Prez now he'd probably get it!

:) Oprah said.. wait wait.. dont push that on the people like that lol.. but the truth is, everyone is god and it is experiencing itself through us. we are all the one. I experienced this through salvia divinorum and words cant express what the vision and feeling is when you leave here. There will be a day when people remember and don't try to sugar coat it.
