Rory/Jess (GG) & Alice/Hatter (Alice) - Like Ships In the Night

Hi. This is my last vid of 2011. I know its actually the start of the New Year, but I been working on this since Sept. I thought I could get it finished last week. Just happy that's its done. I have second guessed myself a few times now on the motion, and overlays to the point I have no view point to know if it works or not. Luckily, I got pretty much all the video locked into a rough cut months ago cause my brain was not functioning well while finishing this.
Regardless, there are some extra, well I call them messages that hopefully if you are an Alice fan or GG fan you will get. I am looking forward to see who has a critical eye. Hints some in the rap & hint Alice fans one in at the end of that rap section. I know this is an over used song now. When I first heard it over this past summer I wanted to make a vid using most of the song to show these couple's stories. Hopefully that's shown.

Yes, lyrics are matched, however GG fans you will notice that I put Rory's mom and dad in reverse with the lyrics of the song. I just couldn't show Chris staying with Rory when he didn't. Another thing that I find interesting is the similarities between these two couples. As for the overlays I really wanted to work on the sound bites hoping that works. One other thing though in regards to the ending since we all know that Alice/Hatter got their happy ending while Rory/Jess did not. I made sure to not end this in heartbreak, instead show that the future is unknown.

Lots of time and thought went into this. I have read similar statements on other fellow vidder's descriptions. To me Gss42x says it best when stating; "Hours to make. Seconds to comment." You said it! I not saying this vid is perfection or even amazing, but the amt of time it takes to comment well it's pretty easy to do in comparison.
Enough said. If you have anything to say go for it! I would love to hear what you think and what you observe. Comments are love!

@luvtheheaven5 Thats so sweet that you did that. I think vidding can help the soul. Defiantly can take you away from things. Can be a bit of an escape sometimes. And, collabs like that will allow people to smile. A good way of getting through that holiday. I have a feeling you will one day make a great mom.

Awe, your like Rory. Sweet, intelligent and has a better grasp of reality instead of Lorelai.

I guess you could say I have a bit of Rory in me was defiantly naive growing up but have changed. I stay more close off to certain people. I guess if you watch in way I am like Alice except I smile lots and I can't kick someones but like she can

@AndyA5899 (I mean I know a lot of people have the experience that you do.) I hosted a collab all about mothers/children set to "True Colors" - the Glee cast version - for Mother's Day this past year. I generally hate the holiday in real life but I thought having a collab all about the various wonderful m/kid relationships on TV would be a nice way to not hate the holiday - to remember that so many moms (& mom characters) are great - & that one day i hope to be a great mom too lol. ;)

@AndyA5899 Yes that was me. I've also been writing a series of tumblr posts to explain that story about my parents/my mom a bit better - link at the top of my video now: /watch?v=CoSxVQqMfGQ :P Thanks for remembering. I know a lot of people are like that.

Rory is still the character I relate to most on TV. I grew up living with only my mom& not my dad and while my mom was nothing like Lorelai I still relate to that aspect of her experience. I also relate to her naivety & personality.

Although these females seem strong and never cry at the same time hurt within and at times breakdown. And, of course have their mom's in their corner. I have thought of doing a vid on fathers and daughters for a long time (I actually found a perfect song) but haven't been able to get myself to want to feel that emotion while making it.

@luvtheheaven5 Pt 2: If I remember correctly you did a vid w/ a Christina Augerlia song showing females and their mom's being abusive. I give you credit for giving a bit of yourself on here. If I am remembering incorrectly disregard.

My mom has been there for me and still is. My dad wasn't when I really needed him the most and still isn't there. So, that's probably why I relate to these female characters who try to stay strong on the outside but put up walls.

@luvtheheaven5 Caterina Scorsone she plays the role of Alice. Since you mentioned her in Private Practice I assumed you knew her name. She is amazing in Alice and ALP is short for Andrew Lee Potts he plays the role of Hatter. He is my fave actor so that's probably why I love him. Yes, Alice was a miniseries. Each ep is the length of one film. Its quick and an impressive story. If you find it online some scenes will not be include as for the time allotted for TV. Those scenes are on youtube.

You're very welcome though, this is great. Btw I personally live with only my dad and my mom was abusive so I like that the song reverses typical gender roles lol. I also like Chris/Rory more than your average person.

As for Veronica Mars well honestly I haven't seen the series. I do know about it though. Crazy right? Its been on my list to view for awhile. Thank you again so much for your comments! I so appreciate it!
