Richard Thompson with Debra Dobkin - Drinking Wine Spo-dee-o-dee - An excellent cover version of the Jerry Lee Lewis rocker - Part of RT's 1000 years of popular music - Live at Wimbledon Theatre - 27 January 2009
@TORGHOOVER The first rockabilly version wasn't jerry lee either. It was done by the Johnny Burnette Rock N Roll Trio. That version smokes, those cats were WILD back in their day, the 'punk rock' of their time with their antics.

The original was not Jerry Lee Lewis, but Sticks McGhee. I think it was Atlantic Records first hit in 1947. Sitck was Brownie McGhees brother.
