TVI TV! - Sorting Shapes and Objects in Tigers (Yr 1)

This video includes a selection of excerpts from a whole class maths lesson, filmed in Year 1 just before the end of the Autumn term. Teacher Claire McIntyre scaffolds children through the process of sorting objects into sets, according to simple properties, using a simple Venn diagram. Learning becomes increasingly more complex, as children are asked to sort objects against more than one criteria and then decide their own criteria. Outside of filming shown here children had opportunities to sort real objects and this was reinforced further during the consolidation part of the lesson.
