  • nooobsyyy :)

  • @christosswc Thanks alot for your reply

  • @CoffeeandCocoa Thanks.

My understanding is that F1 drivers brake deep into corners, in other words they trailbrake.

These cars are "point and squirt" which means you've got to get to the apex as fast as possible, swing the car round and open the taps.

Although corner exit speed remains truly important they can accelerate so fast that if they get on the gas pedal earlier, any disadvantage in speed by throwing themselves into the corner is overcompensated.

Same is true for gearbox karts vs auto.

  • @christosswc You sound knowledgable, and excuse me if this is a stupid question. When you watch F1 onboard with displayed brake and throttle with the green and red bars, they appear to have the brake fullly applied deep into the turn. Is the on screen display wrong, or is it a feature of f1 to brake deep into corners?

    Thanks

  • lovely mate !

  • i went to look at the easykart meeting at rye house at the weekend, i want to do easykart next year!! w00p

  • im gna get this amazing machine

  • Yep, but that's not trailbraking.

    He just locks up.

You trailbrake when you brake deep into the corner, I know because I love to do it although rarely useful in karting unfortunately.

Braking in a straight line, let go of brakes, turn ,accelerate is much less interesting but kinder to the kart and faster as well more often than not.

  • hiya guys do you no thomas stanway dunno if he doe's tkm at whilton but he been there in cadet......

  • How often do you have to change the piston and piston ring in an easykart?
