Here in the UK we have the National Health System - it's not perfect but it's definitely WAY better than this situation.

Everyone has a right to healthcare written into law.

This extreme greed is what happens when a government doesn't care about the people.

This lobbying situation is also very insidious - paying backhanders to change laws etc...if I got caught doing that I would be jailed.

I heard something really sad today. a 7-year old boy died from swine flu and his mom said he did not get vaccinated because they thought it was not safe.
That is incredibly sad--preventable deaths. that is what we have in the US and it is deplorable.
Everyone please call , fax , e-mail your congressman or women and tell them we need health care with a strong public option that we should have care like congress has. it is not free but FDA approved devices, drugs are covered. vaccines are vip

You asked why we are gullible and ignorant about health care issues. I will tell you. It is because it is about the human body. (GASP)!! Our puritanical roots tell us that our bodies are something to be ashamed of, and hidden, and sinful. The only way to get the health care you deserve is to educate yourself and to do and demand what is needed to get healthier.

Democrats are getting huge contributions too. That's why we're not getting single-payer in the House or Senate, or even a strong public option. They have to keep that lobby-money flowing.
