Amman-Jordan. Osama Badran,M.D.,FACOG performing laparoscopy to place
cervical cerclage with Mesilene tape for an 8 week pregnant woman with multiple previous midtrimester spontaneous abortions inspite of cervical cerclages performed vaginally.She also had 2 cesarean sections . Upon physical exam. the residual cervix is flushed with vagina and has no residual lenght what soever. So we apted for placing the cerclage laparoscopically. .

  • Laparoscopic cervical cerclage is more appropriately done as an interval procedure as the diagnosis and need for surgery can be determined prior to pregnancy.
