@dragonpengui Thank you, it is rare for someone to apogize after making statements here on Youtube. You sir are a man amongst Boys. I appreciate your support.

@dragonpengui the pickup tooth is not the first tooth when I describe a piston. I made that clear. There is pickup, then the first tooth. We can argue over what is what, but unless you make the video you can't write the script. Thanks for watching and the attempt at useful input.

where do you put the white spacer? do you glue in on the piston head? that doesnt sound right.

I have never heard of this before. but i am very happy i came upon it thanks for the info

@EManthePB Doesnt matter really, but I prefer to Shim first, because the piston is the last thing I touch before closing a gearbox.

@SHWELL11 Do I do the shim job first or the AOE?
cool. i'm learning a lot about gearbox upgrading through your vids. question: where can i get those sorbothane spacers? also, i've checked other vids on aoe aligning. some people put the spacer between the piston and piston head, some glue the spacer to the back of the cylinder head. which do you do? and why?

@mentalmetal1 It really depends on my goal, and whether or not I have Sorbo pads to use. When adding it to the back of the Cylindr head, it is usually a sorbo pad being used. Sorbo is a hard gel and will offer some padding to the piston head. This makes the gb very quiet as well as adjusting the AOE at the same time. It is really up to the user. The spacers I use are from Ace Hardware.

hey shwell! i was wondering if you know any after market pistons that would work well in a kwa km4... their specs in the gearbox are off so i probably am going to short stroke some teeth on the piston to accommodate the over spin...

@thefoshizle2 I am sorry I dont. I actually havent heatrd from anyone saying other pistons dont work. That part is usually changeable.

hey Shwell Great video. Im getting into tech work myself and this really helped. Btw when you are finished a shim job and are spinning the gears to test it. Should you grease up your gears and close off the gearbox. Thanks.
IAirelandairsoft 3 months ago
@IAirelandairsoft Not during the testing. You want to get the best dry shim job you can make. Then Grease and close.. Because the grease you put in place is not always going to be exactly where you put it. The Gears will dry out a bit with use. Adding grease should not have an adverse effect on the performance of your shim job if done correctly.
