Doc,
I am not a member, but I am a Christian and a surfer. The people involved are surfers. We're not "using" surfing, but communicating God's message in the context of it. I came to know Christ through my own surfing. I happy share my story with anyone who will listen. Religious bigotry is a bad thing, but many "relgious" people are not bigots, including most surfers. If you don't believe me, talk to Tom Curren (also a Christian). And to jstnhnh, isn't it amazing how the tables turn! Aloha:)

It was Christian missionaries who almost ruined surfing for everyone back in the 1800s by suppressing it within Hawaiian society. Ironic, isn't it?

AW Awesome VID, Bra! Nothing cooler than Christ! And if Christ was here he would be a total surfer! He even looked like a surfer with his long blond hair and his bleached beard! DUDE! TOTALLY RAD! Go Christ! Totally Tubular Groovy Wicked Awesome! It wont be long until the bushy bushy blond hair beach boys realize that Christ is cool, just like them and surfing! YEAH!

I Like the video Because I will Like to know more about HOW CAN I HAVE A BETTER relation whit God I mean you can buy your own food but you cant buy spiritual food, and as I Will start my spiritual journey searching for God.. ( because being a atheist and thinking Hey there is probably no God .. so stop worrying and live you life ) ( no offense ) somehow feel empty Im a Man of little faith but I want to believe, and this video made me think.. nice video

I am not happy when I now see my sport being used by a organisation with an agenda to indoctrinate young people. If you wish to use our sport be prepared to be to be challenged on what you're about.

I love surfing, for me surfing is freedom, freedom on the ocean to be who you are, far away from those in society would wish to tell you how to live your life. It doesnt matter where you come from or what you believe everyone is welcome. During the worst days of the troubles in Ireland surfing transcended religious bigotry, out back it was always just about the waves.
