@zagnut48219, thats about as close as we have gotten to a tornado since 68 i believe. it always seems to miss cc and head right for the next town

So sad.....
-
i was one of the many ppl in that town to get flooded

I too was born in 52 and spent many springs watching the north end flood, the St. Marys Bridge get closed and water roll under the Suspension Bridge. Never could I have imagined this water level. Your right, 68 was a test, and 08 will be as well.

That was a crazy year there. I don't live there now, unfortunately. I moved back to Detroit. I really miss CC and the IA storms. Thanks for the comment!

My name is Leesa (Stanbro) Siems, my husband and I grew up in Charles City and it is sad to see the damange that the residents of CC are going through. We survived the 68 tornado, I know the residents of CC will survice this disaster too. Thank you for posting this, we live so far away and feel so helpless. My prayers will continue to head your way.

We almost had another tornado hit us 2 nights ago around 9pm. It was about 8 miles north east in between us and Osage. I was able to get some video of it from the field behind Diversified Fastening on Richings St. I'll see about uploading the vid. Dunno how well Youtube will convert it since it's a night video. If not, I'll make a short slide show of pictures from the video.

Thanks for the compliments.
It's gone down A LOT. I actually can't believe it went down so much so fast. But poor Waterloo and Cedar Rapids are getting hit hard with it now. I was wondering if they were going to reopen the MAin St Bridge. It wasn't open earlier this evening, and the Army Corp of Engineers hanging around all day yesterday lead me to believe they expected it to collapse. Hopefully, the big storm heading our way tonight, won't raise it back up too much.
