well,most of the info i have collected about gdansk says that most of the polish defenders were actually ex military,and i have photos from the scene were the germans are dressed as SA and allgemeine ss police men,the heavy artillerie came in the last hours

By the way: "some sa and wehrmacht guys were fighting back" - WRONG ! That was Polish Post Office in Gdansk ( some Polish instytutions were represented in Free City of Gdansk ). As a Polish territory it was attacked on Sept. 1th 1939 by German troops. 57 armed postmen resisted for about 15 hours.

i remember a movie,but i dont remember if its german or polish,where a little kid who was involved in the post office defense in gdansk where some some sa and wehrmacht guys were fighting back,this kid didnt want to grow up and he hurted himself to be a midget one

the name of the movie in my country was the drummer but i dont remember the original one
