@cjf3153 Jesus told his disciples to go and do likewise. His goal wasn't to do it all himself. He came to show the way.

WHY DID HE NOT HEAL ALL THE SICK, AND OVERTHROW THE ROMANS?

A fable for our time.

@Cheeso33 it is true we are saved ultimately only by the Grace of Christ But Christ taught we will be rewarded for our works. Matt 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Also Cor 3:8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

@Cheeso33 Heaven is not equally blessed for everyone in the Bible. Salvation can come but there are varied degrees in Heaven. Jesus was asked who is the greatest in Heaven and he replied "Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Matt 18:4. also Matt 5;19 talks about being the least and greatest in Heaven. John Chapter 14 Jesus says there are many mansions in heaven. Paul talks about the 3rd Heaven. 2 Cor 12:2

Please explain to me how, if Heaven is equally blessed for everyone, we are to be rewarded? Your bible quote promises neither rewards nor credit, only advice.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." -Ephesians 2:8.
See that? I can take quotes too! You are not saved by works. You do not get rewards for works. You need not boast.

@Cheeso33 You most certainly do receive credit in heaven for the deeds you do..if you believe what the bible says. Matthew Chapter 6:19-20 is just one example: 19 ¶Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

@Kad5 What are you talking about? Politics and religion where the same thing back then? The Roman Empire controlled the politics in Jerusalem and eventually ousted the Jews and destroyed the Temple. Also the "King" in Jerusalem was an Arab also not a Jew as Jesus was. Jesus Said His kingdom was not of this world. His gospel apply to heavenly things and afterlife. I'm Just saying.

We don't receive 'credit' in Heaven for any deed. Almost all Christian Sects advocate a gospel of 'grace'- every person is sinful, but we're all saved by Jesus.
Wow, I can't believe how many so-called Christians don't get the joke here. Al Franken is Jewish, and he wrote this satire. I'm Jewish, and I understand the satire.
Try reading your Bible and see what Jesus said about the poor. A major theme of both Old and New Testaments is that the poor must be given charity, compassion, and justice. Yet so many politicians constantly brag about being Christian, but insist that the poor should be left to suffer! These are the worshipers of Supply Side Jesus.

Absolutely fantastic! Very well done. The voices are all professionally done. And the message oh so true! The right-wing mepublicans have hijacked the true message of Jesus, which is very compassionate.
