Why I Relay.... (Relay for Life 2011)

I can't capture every reason why I Relay in under a minute, but I tried my best to hit the big ones.


I Relay for Hope, for a Cure, for family, friends, for the future, for myself, my sister, those fighting against Cancer, those who have WON the fight, and those who have lost the fight.

I Relay because I believe in the American Cancer Society and their positive work.


In honor of my mother and in memory of Devon... we miss you, and you were my inspiration for 2011! Even now, I still think of you when I go to Gainesville, or see a post from one of the Relay for Life UF "family" members... 2010 Relay was amazing... and 2011 was bittersweet without your cheerful personality keeping me going.

An update -- I was able to raise $1,000 this last year for Relay for Life. My mother, who just fought breast cancer for the second time, is now in remission. My friend Devon, sadly, had passed away in a car accident in 2010. She was a cancer survivor and a huge supporter of ACS. If anyone wants to know more about Relay, please feel free to ask me!
