About the Podcast:
Children have unique health needs. In this podcast, UMMC pediatric expert Dr. Stephen Czinn describes the special health care needs of children and the role of a dedicated children's hospital.

As a specialist in pediatric GI disorders, Dr. Czinn discusses reflux, or "spitting up" in children - what is normal and how to help alleviate frequent reflux. He also describes the connection between reflux and asthma and the need to identify and treat both conditions.

And, in this discussion with Ellen Beth Levitt, he says three-quarters of all children with reflux have asthma, and vice-versa.

About the Expert:
Dr. Stephen Czinn is the director of the University of Maryland Hospital for Children and professor and chairman of pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

  • My son had influx (12) and he was examined in Australia before we return to the U.K. Happily he outgrew it. :O)
