Wow! Nice find!
I'm glad I don't have to worry bout bears in Illinois!

Dry em out and store in airtight containers. They keep for years.

Wow! Beautiful, congratulations! The chanterelles, too. :o)

Those are some of the nicest chanterelles I've seen in a long time. I love to saute them lightly and make a chanterelle pizza with lots of cheese too!!

I used to pick sponge mushrooms down here in ILLinois.....have you had them ?......are they similar to chantarelle ?.......do you fry them in egg and cracker batter ?.....gosh I am hungry watching your video.....LOL

Sponge mushroom or the Bolete family of mushroom is totally different then Chanterelles! I have had them before. We just sautee our Chanterelles in butter and salt, pepper and dill. I also pickle my mushrooms and then we have some all year!

Thank you for the great video. It gives me hope of finding some mushrooms here in Northern Utah,
It is all about respect for the land , Nature, Nuthing better than an Elk steak and some mushrooms, !

Elk steak would be nice! Our Christmas dinner is Venison tenderloins with sauteed Chanterelle mushrooms and beer battered pickerel!
Post a video if you find some mushrooms in Utah!

What are you going to do with all those? How can you eat them all before they go bad?

We chop them up and cook them in butter until they are half way done then we cool them off and put them in freezer bags. When we want to eat them we just unthaw them and then sautee them until they start to turn crisp and then eat them with venison steaks through out the winter. We also pickle them too. We just ate our last frozen bag last week and I still have 2 jars of canned left. Can't wait to find more this year, not one goes wasted in our family!
