Swindon council have always been like out of touch 70s politicians, fill it in, build on it, sell it, Swindon has one by one lost every endearing spot that made it liveable, the canal, coate water, the paddling pool, even the town centre now looks like a series of bad ideas facing each other, sooort itt ouuutttt!!!! i had to move to Bristol cos the town gardens just wasn't enough pretty 'things' to look at, i love Swindon and i miss it but not the way it's run, awful council..

I have just discovered this video and it bring's back some great memories,I took my teanage son to the area a couple of years ago to show him where I used to live and play and found it quite sad that the play area's had mostly been demolished , particular unsetting was the pile of rubble that used to be the paddling pool, I do hope they restore it, kids still enjoy playing around with water

Hi - not wasted, just sleeping, loads done already to get this area going for kids once more. Join one of the groups...and help bring it on! Read the Penhill News for more info.
This used to an outstanding adventure play area,so what went wrong, why are we now wasting money on a new play park when there was nothing wrong with the original one.lets face it, they'll build a new park only for the local and ungrateful to destroy & graffitti in the name of boredom...hears a wild idea people, why not teach your offspring the value of time, money & respect & then maybe the rest of us simple tax payers wont waste anymore money on something that was'nt broken in the first place.

Ask the council why they took it away!
I am a tax payer and I want to see this park back as it used to be, somewhere for families to go.
I would rather my tax be spent on a project like this rather than on a canal through the center of town !
