Flasher-Spinner spins by itself when released. Inspired by Chris Palmer's spinning hexagonal flasher in the film 'Between the Folds' and Jeremy Shafer's Simple Flasher, this is the first in an ongoing series of flasher-spinners I am experimenting with, my goal being to reproduce the hexagonal flasher from the film. I videographed all of this in real time. No tricks or CGI employed. No external blower. Just accurate folding, angular momentum, pretty good balance, and a level glossy surface. The gaps are just when the spinner went out of frame.

  • Hi there. I was wondering how you make the flasher without ripping the middle base, since whenever I follow the crease patterns, after a while, a gaping whole appears in the middle of the top.

  • @canonselphycp You have to prefold everything. Then gradually crimp it starting at the outside edges and going around the edges eventually collapsing it toward the center. Little by little, not too fast, and don't force it or it will rip. It will finally collapse into shape.

  • @OrigamiTourist2010after i colapsed it i soaked it in water but it wont rewind fat help me plz reply

  • @gabrielrockstar03 I don't understand the problem. Restate it more clearly.

  • *o* TEACH ME

  • @OrigamiTourist2010 Is it related to a radial flasher?

  • @OrigamiTourist2010 Ok!?!?!?!?

  • OH! There. I have finished the spinning flasher. Although not as good as yours, I see how it works now. The original flasher has the middle base fold, and this variation negates that effect. Again, thanks for the crease patterns.

  • Thank you for the crease patterns. :D

  • @origamimaster4716 Just print the CP, extend the lines, and draw a square around it at a 45 degree angle. Then redraw it.
