Hi, this is Jim from www.BeastSkills.com

I visited Jack Arnow at his apartment last weekend. Here he showed me his home set-up for assisted one arm chin ups.

He's currently working towards a double bodyweight chin-up at 140 lbs. (He's done +120 lbs already). And he's 65!

Check out my past interview with Jack if you haven't already: http://www.beastskills.com/Arnow.htm

  • hey jim thanks to your comment on your website on the way jack grips the bar my strength in one arm negative has improved by at least half thanks

  • Glad it helped! Jack is extremely strong, in part, because he's extremely technical. You always have to think how you can improve and strengthen the movement.

  • I thought you were gonna be the one arm chin up machine and I was disappointed

  • haha he sounds like mort goldman

  • No, it's overall body strength and of course your back plays the biggest part in it. Personally I'd leave wide grip alone.

  • now tha you say it, i did about 3 months before hand, maybe a months break, and now im back again, still ahvent improved much, maybe i just have bad genes, god i wish i could swap genes with someone, all the hardwork i put in and my body doesnt adapt to the trianing...

  • It takes a lot longer than a month to build up the strength! Give it time!

  • how do you develop that strength in the weighted chinup though becoz ive been trying and trianing it for about a month now and iahvent increased much at all..

  • IMO one rep. I weigh 70kgs and could do one rep with 60kg weight. However at that time I was not able to do a OAC. Now I can do one rep with 50kg but have concentrated OAC training to get that skill back, and I´m much more confident with getting OAC again.

  • is 2/3 a one rep max or for like 6 reps?
