No home owners Association would tollorate this lol. It is a great idea though and more should do it. I live away from subburbs and more on the country side and I love it and my garden.

This is the plan I have had, get rid of the useless grass and plant edibles and beneficials. I am doing it in a way where it is not an eyesore and my front yard is getting lots of compliments. I companion plant and intermmix veggies and flowers and place the plants artistically as if it was a normal landscaping project. My neighbors now want to do it too! A fair amount of plant knowledge is needed in the design phase to envision what the full grown plants will look like, but so far so good!

I agree-- you should be able to do what YOU want with YOUR land!

youre right - realistically, we CAN do what we want with our land. We shouldnt need permission to plant food to feed our family. If we do it organically, safely, and with awareness that sharing is caring;)

Home Owners Association- typical in condo/townhouse and newer subdivisions that have their own rules and restrictions that govern the homes and residents in their area over and above what any city, county or state rules are to non members. They are a nightmare.

There's no HOA. Boulder is pretty liberal and they might enact ordinances that prevent HOA's from doing that kind of thing.

I have a small plot and lots of pots to grow in. The kids love helping out. I got one of my neighbors into it and he's really got a great garden now.
