There is a bear in the woods...and it is us.
This footage is of a Florida Black Bear captured in suburban Miami-Dade County. This young male was transported to Miami Veterinary Specialists after a collision with a vehicle on the Florida Turnpike. His fractured radius and ulna (forearm) was to receive surgery...until the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission rejected the offer for donated services to plate the injury.
The bear, named "Turnpike" for his incident on that road, was relocated to the Everglades, where he is presumably "recovering from his injuries"...or dying a slow death due to starvation. We'll probably never know his fate.
