An easy way to make firewood with a Husqvarna 570 chainsaw with a 28" bar. Load the long (2m in this case) split logs into a rack made from six stakes. Use a ratchet strap to tie the logs down securely. Chainsaw through the whole stack of logs several times. put the logs back in the trailer. I filmed this using my GoPro HD Hero, taking a photo every 2 seconds. The video was processed using Photoshop for batch resizing, VirtualDub for cropping and assembling into a video, and Windows Live MovieMaker to add stills, music and titles. http://peplers.blogspot.com Music from Kevin McLeod (incompetech.com)

  • @webb0406 We got the trailer 2nd-hand for £150 in 2007 - it's helped people move house 5 times and moved many tonnes of logs, so definitely a good one!

  • That's one tough little trailer

  • @fupa74 Yeah, it is a lot of handling, but as our woodland is a few miles from the house there's always going to be several stages - we don't have space to process wood at home, so only the finished logs are back there. For us the main thing is that it lets you process logs in bulk without having to spend thousands on a log processing machine.

  • not a bad idea, seems like a lot of handling of the wood. 1 cut wood, 2 load, 3 unload and load into rack, cut, 4 load back into trailer 5 then stack at house.
