Mad World

This video is one of the first I have done using only footage taken from 3 great films. These are by Ron Fricke and Godfrey Reggio.
Kowaanisqatsi Powaqqatsi and Naqoyqatsi - I recommend these for anyone interested in film and cinematography.
I have used takes from the films to make the videos and hope you enjoy.

Just to be clear, Fricke didn't do any of the Qasti trilogy. He did Baraka, Chronos and Samsara, which comes out in '08 or '09.

Fricke did the cinematography on Koyaanisqatsi was co writer and editor - The idea of the qatsi series much attributed to Frickes original photography and concept that started it off. Dont take my word for it takes Frickes - Fricke writes about his work: "I feel that my work has evolved through Koyaanisqatsi, Chronos and Baraka. Both technically and philosophically I am ready to delve even deeper into my favorite theme: humanity's relationship to the eternal".

great song, crappy mundane video with clips randomly thrown together that simply had literal ties with the lyrics. This was awful, I had to stop watching as your boring video was ruining the depth of the song

Love that song. But this whole package was a bit too straight-forward for my taste. Each shot corresponds clearly to every line in the song... But I feel like words are already enough to tell me what the song tries to tell me, so instead of simply representing the words, I would use video footage to somehow enhance it in a creative way, by contrast, metaphor, etc. Just my thought.
