Sequestration could lead to big Head Start cuts on Grand Strand

Democratic and Republican governors were in Washington Monday to meet with President Barack Obama.

They're in bipartisan agreement that they want to avoid the deep automatic spending cuts under the so-called sequester.

Head Start is little more than structured babysitting for working families.

I applaud the single mothers who are out there trying to make it happen, even if the best they can do is cashier at Walmart or make smoothies at the mall. They're doing something and working as hard as they can to take care of their kids. Go single moms!

But lets's face it... our graduation rate decline and increased crime rate is a result of lousy parenting. Tax dollars can't fix that. Only adoption can.
