James Martin performs the National Anthem at an NBA Hornets Game in New Orleans

Saxophonist James Martin began his career playing in the clubs and second lines of New Orleans as a member of various bands fronted by his then classmate Trombone Shorty while they both attended High School at the prestigious New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts. Since his teenage years James has earned his stripes performing on three different continents and forty-two of the fifty Unites States of America. James also has had the privelage of working alongside greats such as Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, and Lenny Kravitz for example.
James' currently performs with various bands in New Orleans, is a voice for the nonprofit organization Let's Be Totally Clear, and writing and producing in the studio developing himself and other artists. His latest release, Bent But Not Broken, features and allstar cast of Ivan Neville, Paul Sanchez, Tricia "Teedy" Boutte, Shamarr Allen and others. The song sales will be donated to Silence Is Violence, an anti-violence community group that mentors the city's youth through music and other art forms.
