I unbox the Intel 510 Series SSD and show how to install it in the 2011 MacBook Pro (15" Core i7). Then, I install OS X, and perform some of the same tests from my first 2011 MBP video. Please feel free to leave comments or questions and I will try to respond. Also be sure to rate. Thanks for watching!

  • I just subbed to You, nice videos!

  • @LaczupakabraPL Appreciate it!

  • They're not that reasonably priced at the moment. For the average consumer these drives can be as much as a cheap computer. I'll be sticking with my standard hd until the price makes a serious drop.

  • @Treeman5744 Agreed, the average consumer might not buy a $200+ SSD right now. And, it's hard to ignore the price per gigabyte ratio compared to HDDs. If you can get over those things, I think it's an excellent way to upgrade a new computer, or breathe new life into something that's maybe just a few years old.

  • Where did you get the ssd? Do you now a good place to buy them.

  • @bballfreaksa I got it from buy dot com. Head to slick deals (no space) dot net and search for intel 510 to keep an eye out for a good buy. I got the $269 deal from March, but there may be better prices now. You may also find better prices for other brands. Good luck!

  • I really want to upgrade my computer with an ssd but they are really!!!!! Expensive i guess ill wait

  • is this SLC or MLC

  • SATA II or III?

  • @blakecottington can i put this in a late 2007 mid 2008 macbook pro?? because i would like to make my mac faster with ssd and ram

  • I've been wondering for this for a while, does mac support TRIM with other SSD than apple's SSD now? I've got a MBP 13 mid 2010, can I buy a intel SSD 320 and dont worry about anything? Or does it still lack TRIM support and I've to expect slower performance in the future?

  • my macbook pro 13 2011 core 2 is way faster ssd ortex
