This is a possible usage of Helan. Many people dislike the comic like look of Diablo3 (I like the look so don't damn me), for these people Helan could be a solution.
Helan will change the look of the rendered image in real time so its possible to change the bright look into something more gloomy. But only if D3 uses Directx9 as graphic API.
With some more tweaks at the plug ins of Helan it should also be possible to add the grain effect provided in the remastered screen shots:

Where can I get the latest version of Helan?
I have v0.95, and the DoF doesn't let you edit the settings at all, and I'd love to use this program

i think they should dring direct x 10 on D3.

Maybe they will, but I believe very hard that they target for the mass market, and those will still use DX9 cards in around 1 or 2 years.
If only DX10 will be supported, no problem, Helan can use this too :)
