  • And that, my friends, was the moment Walter Fritz Mondale lost the 1984 election. It's unfortunate that he was just trying to be honest and it came off the wrong way. Four years later we heard "Read my lips" and we saw what happened there...

  • Regan was one of the worst presidant's ever

  • @reddalater17 The historical evidence refutes that, sir. Where is the Soviet Union now?

  • I heard him campaigning in the Voice Of America way back in 1984 when I was still 13 . He announced that "I'm running for the

President Of The United States" amid the sound of cheering in the background . God , 28 years have passed since that announcement . Greetings from Malaysia Mr Vice President Mondale !

  • @redletter2008 thats no loss to anyone a worthless state full of bizarre crazy nobodies is no good and of no account

  • look at that asshole! when he finally dies they ought to pound an oak stake into his heart and bury him under ten tons of concrete

  • @Tuneman1984 he still thought that trust was the biggest issue, like it was in '76.

  • @1prouddemocrat In fact, Reagan lost only one state - Minnesota - which he only lost by about 4,000 votes. Had Reagan pulled out Minnesota (he deliberately refused advisor's requests to campaign there in final days of campaign to help Mondale save face and at-least win his home state), he would have been the first & only candidate to win all 50 states. Mondale never had a chance and was doomed from the start. A disaster so bad Dems would not recover for 8 years. Mondale was worse than Carter.

  • Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro were not going to win this election. President Reagan was WAY too popular. History has also shown that losing Vice Presidential candidates may lousy Presidential candidates. Just ask Henry Cabot Lodge, Edmund Muskie, Walter Mondale, Dan Quayle, Bob Dole, Joe Lieberman, and John Edwards!

  • Funny, people always talk about how politicians should be honest..and look at this.

  • @beatlemania100

    Clinton NEVER ran a surplus.

    .

    .

Go to Treasury gov and look for the total debt. In not one year did Clinton run a surplus. The money was borrowed from SS to pay off public debt. The Total debt was simply transfered to another place out of sight.

  • OBAMA REDUX.

    .
