A nice video about mushrooms, or so my young daughter tells me. Please make of it what you will. My apologies for the poor synchronisation at times. My first attempt. Practice makes perfect they say and the sand is in the eyes of the deceiver. Let's hope so !
Thanks to Tom Salter at StonewallStudios in Canada for inspiring me to give it a try.

On 18th March 2007 I received the following message from Malcolm Cecil ;

TONTO's Expanding Head Band "ZEROTIME" - available again Hi,
Malcolm Cecil from TONTO's Expanding Head Band here.

Thank you for your comment on the Analog Dreams -1 video.
It is much appreciated - We just found Youtube so we are newbies and are catching up with what's been happening. Very cool.

"CYBERNAUT" was my very first first electronic music composition (back in 1969) - it's a mind blower to find it actually cybernauting almost 30 years later!

btw- our music as available again on CD. If you are interested, contact: tontocd@hvc.rr.com

I personally remastered this CD from the original Head Band analog master tapes and the pressings were manufactured in the UK. IMHO this is the best TONTO has sounded - EVER!!

We released it to commemorate the Head Band's live performance at the BIG CHILL in August 2006 - it's a LIMITED EDITION (1000 pressings only)

Titles include all tracks from the 1971 LP, ZERO TIME,and all tracks (except "Beautiful You") from the 1975 LP "IT'S ABOUT TIME", as well as a never before released bonus track ("Bittersweet").

Most of them were sold at the festival, but we stall have a few copies left and we don't plan on repressing them.

Thanx again for your support and particularly for recognizing our music and telling everyone about "Cybernaut" - very much appreciated!

Peace
Malcolm Cecil, TONTO's Expanding Head Band

  • It would be nice to have someone to listen these classics with like in the good old days (pot and rock) it doesn't get any better then that

  • @Bill99Cass

Thanks for commenting. Maybe that someone will come along when you least expect it. Good luck !

  • This has been a big favourite of mine since the 70s. I ordered a CD ages ago but there is apparently a legal problem that stops copies being released on sale, so i keep enjoying it on here. thanks very much for downloading.

Hi ! Thanks for commenting. Sorry you've not been able to get hold of the CD. I hope the issue will be resolved soon.

  • Used to listen to them all the time at uni early 70`s but leant my copy to a friend in Guildford and never got it back. Recently managed to buy Tonto Rides Again on CD includes all ZeroTime - and my very favourite track - Tama - listen to this - it`s wrongly called Trama on this youtube video.....

  • Hi Sallyanne657

It is amazing how few of those 'borrowed' albums were ever returned to their rightful owners. Glad you managed to pick up the cd. Worth every penny !

  • I had the original album and after speaking to Malcolm Cecil's son at the Gothic Image shop in Glastonbury, I now have the work on Compact Disc. I love the full rich sound and I am nearly 70 years old.

  • Thanks so much for TeHb I'm A devotee of the lesser know bands, Mad River, Mallard, Renaldo and the Loaf, Bruce Haack... I'm an experimental/ Psychedelic Musicians / Artist, and flipped when I was able to Find Ant Trip ceremony and Curved Air, Van der Graaf Generator...

But this is one of the Holy Grails in my search. Now I just need to find albums, and some John's Children, and H,P, Lovecraft. and I'll be somewhat satisfied.

  • @MrVulcan09 I have the original vinyl LP, love electronic music, this was one of my faves as well

  • @paulreeve, haven't heard this for over 30 years, and I'm still convinced I can hear some of the soundtrack from 'Six million Dollar man' in there somewhere.

Still, the band have one of the best names for a group, ever.

Never went on tour, sadly, since moving their synth would have been as easy as moving Milton Keynes.

This was one of the first songs I ever heard through headphones. Apparently my facial expression was not unlike that of a smiley face drawn by a kid on a balloon. No bad thing then.

  • One of my very favorite groups, haven't heard them since I was a child, thank you soooo much!

  • @MrVulcan09 I just bought a cheap cd off oxfam new and wrapped, second hand on line store, and it has this track on it. its called the big chill
