For a Professional Foundations course, the first year occupational therapy students were asked to research a community deficit within the Washington Heights community and to present their findings. Group 5 presented the community deficit of obesity and shared the idea of creating an occupational therapy group at a local church. Additionally, they highlighted the importance of being mindful of one's community culture when providing and coming up with OT strategies and treatments for the clients of the local community. During the presentation, Group 5 showed this video to demonstrate the views of local community members of Washington Heights: how they stay physically active in the area, what improvements could be done, and what limitations exist within their community.
Group 5 members include:
April Arrozal
Stephanie Crane,
Kay Izumihara,
Lindsay Katzman
