The best combo for lead & rhythm guitar playing ever is Robert Johnson/Robert Johnson but Taylor/Richards comes close second.

Very cool concert footage, and I will pay money to keep this on YouTube.

Holy SHIT the sheer beauty of this music... The song itself is just so unbelievably well written, from the first riff which just rolls like an intense wave of bliss right into you, through the gorgeous licks, Mick's celebratory vocals and OF COURSE Mick T's beautifully fluid solos throughout, right up until the last second with the 'call and response' coda that is just perfection. AND just the way the Stones play this live here.... It's just what MUSIC is about.

Chuckie is one of a very rare breed of drummers that hears everything as he's laying down tempo. He just gradually rides this tempo up in this, exactly as was intended. Just excellent...played with a guy like this once. He could make anything you play sound like the best song ever. We both gave up pro music eventually but he never should have.

I still my 1970 Dan Armstrong Bass. Same one Bill's playing

mick taylor is leagues above steve vai in terms of emotion in the playing

Remember this when it first hit the airwaves. And its as good now, as it was then. Old stones vids are awesome.

@ls1959 I have just read your comments about Mick Taylor. I agree with you and I would go further in as much that I really think he was the most gifted lead player of his time, probably of all time. Not only was he melodic and bluesy but he could rock like nobody else. His duel with Richards on Bye Bye Johnny ( New York 1972 ) is the greatest piece of live music that anyone will ever hear.

@thestonesinexile72 Bingo.

Mick Jagger is sexy as all hell.
@neilus I couldn't disagree with you more about Mick T.'s playing style. While he is clearly no technical virtuoso in the mold of a Joe Satriani, he runs circles around Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and all the other technical masters when it comes to melodic playing. I can't think of a better live solo in the history of rock music than Mick T's live performance on Love in Vain in this same Ladies and Gentlemen tour. His playing on Can't you hear me knockin and Time Waits for no one are exquisite.

@Rael302 100% correct. Taylor/Richards best lead /rhythm combo ever. No theatrics, just amazing leads and the human riff.
