The singer is indeed Ann Mulqueen from Castleconnell, Co Limerick. My grandmother (RIP) was a Mulqueen and that makes us second cousins (I think). I last saw Ann at my mothers funeral in in Castleconnell in 2007.

The man who wrote this song is a cousing of my grandmother. Her name is Maureen Sheehan...but she married a moloney
