our apollo-seiko robots are used when we have hundreds of boards with soldering work, which is impossible for wave or selective soldering; we avoid as much as possible handsoldering, our robots mostly are much more repetitive (important for delicate components where we can preset temperature and time) and cheaper

  • @R5H4D0W cool

  • @iceskull11 Yep, that's job security for us controllers... but yes you are right, if a robot is soldering off the designed location and left unnoticed for a day or two... eek. Naturally, we get very paranoid even though alignment algorithms will gave us a early warning.

  • @R5H4D0W Well you also have to remember that a robot that works 24/7 will need replacement parts. And also a highly paid technician will have to fix it. Which can take a long time for parts to get shipped. Plus the number of boards that the broken robot made are no good and cannot be reused which is waste.

  • too slow, it's bad solution.

  • @BarsMOnster true ;)

  • what kind of pcb is that? it looks like a PLC

  • @iceskull11 But you need salary ;-)

  • i can go faster than that

  • too long
