Part 1 of 3: The latter half of a ride I did with some friends. This is just the section between Marble Falls and NW Austin (Volente), along 1431 and Lime Creek Road.

Note: I probably cut about 25 minutes worth of video simply because one of the things with riding on the street is inevitably you encounter traffic. Going putt-putt on these roads is insanely boring, so I tried to spare you guys..

Enjoy!

  • This one yes... Lime Creek, not so much, lol.

  • Oh tell me about it!! I was a bad girl and passed on the double yellow once or twice.. but a lot of people around here haven't heard of "Texas Friendly" (where cars pull onto the shoulder to allow faster vehicles to pass.. like only 2 of the 10 cars I was stuck behind did), and I was getting bored, lol.

  • A few months ago a couple friends of mine came in from flatter parts of the state. Took them up Lime Creek and 1431 through Marble Falls and on up to Inks Lake. Long story short: There's a rather long left going into MF, and right after we passed someone on the inside of that corner a Sheriff came around the other direction. Probably passed him at about 70, not too sure. Unfortunately if you want to enjoy the ride you've got to take those risks. Somehow we weren't stopped though...

  • Yeah, it definitely sucks to get stuck behind slow traffic around here (especially if you go west to Kerrville/Hunt/Leakey). Hard to enjoy the ride if you're always doing the "right" thing by never passing on a double yellow.. don't get me wrong, though, I make sure I have plenty of room and visibility to do it safely. :) Most of the time anyway... *whistles*

  • They really don't like overtaking in the US, do they! All those miles and miles of double yellow, covering loads of good overtaking spots, then a tiny stretch of dotted yellow every so not very often...
