I played in a tournament at the Goldstrike in Tunica. When we sat down, each stack of our chips had a re-buy chip sitting next to it. Clearly, we all assumed it was a re-buy tourney. After the first hour and 2 players at my table re-buying, a new dealer sat down and told us that it was in fact not a re-buy and no other table had re-buy chips. They let the players who re-bought keep their new stack and let a short-stacked buddy of mine bust out a few hands later.

yeah if you sign up for the tournament previously (before it starts), and you're late to it, it should be COMMON SENSE to just blind him off. that's the only fair action.
