Hymn: His Eye is on the Sparrow.
"Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore do not fear; you are of more value than many sparrows." (Matthew 10:29-31)

I've been wanting to do my hymns, but it's hard to find music tracks that arent' A) Too country; B) overly orchestrated; or C) don't cost $10 for one song.
Recently, my sister and her family were up (hi, sis!) and my nephew offered to record some background music for me. He's quite the musician! Obviously, he can play keyboard/piano. But he was recently featured on Public Radio's Young Artist series playing the organ! So, Thank You, Crawford! Also, thank you to my brother, Scott, for the loan of his keyboard!

  • OMG... this is very.... well watch jennifer holliday's version, Fantasia Barrino's version, Lauren Hill and Tanya Blounts version. Then watch this one!

    Quite....interesting.

  • Are you saying I'm worse or...? :)

  • Interested to know how you lost weight since you said you did. You did a great job. What's the secret?

  • Working in the yard, walking on my breaks at work and eating better - lots of salads. It's been 6-7 months of paying better attention to my health.

  • More of a crooner style. I like it. It's nice to get back to the basics every once in a while.

  • I do like your version; none of the needless embellishments that so many singers feel obligated to employ for this hymn that, in my opinion, ruin it. This is certainly how I like to hear it. Thank you for posting this.

  • Also, a ladie at hospise sang this song as my aunt died.. i watched.. god rest her soul

  • This is what I was looking for....Simple melody with less embellishment. This is the only rendition I've yet found on YouTube that fills the bill.

  • Splendidly done, BRAVO!

  • Thank you!! This the first time in years that I've heard this song the way I remember it as a child. You sang it from the heart and didn't jazz it up. You sang the notes with out the rolling trills...which is ok in some music...but not in this song. I'm sharing this with all of my friends and family. They will appreciate it too. Thank you and God Bless you.

  • Beautiful singing and very nice accompaniment. Bravo.

  • You have beautiful eyes.

  • Just a real blessing thank you and God bless you.
