@love6uk I have been going through the exact same situation. Like how Shaun describes in the "power of now" consciousness, you need to try to get to the point where you still have your firm set of beliefs, but also to respect the opinions of others and not try to force them. Even if their opinions are ignorant. Even though they may not ever realize it, try to understand that it is because they aren't as consciously evolved as you. This is what the "power of now" person understands and copes with

Shaun, if you haven't already, You should look into the teachings of the recent philosopher Alan Watts (great example of a person with the "power of now" consciousness). Your analogy of the 4th level of consciousnesses' (strictly rational minded person) view of happiness as being "just up ahead" and being based upon getting more and more money, materialistic possessions etc, goes hand in had with one of his best lectures on happiness-

I am hating this right now. It used to be so beautiful. Now I think I am supposed to be breaking down my ego because I am telling people stuff like this that have no idea and just humiliating myself. Its painful. I cant sleep I cant eat and I cant work. I just want to be able to sleep this off for a while but the fear feeling is horrible. What happens after and how long will it take? People around me dont get this stuff.
