The Melbourne to Sydney daytime XPT "Express Passenger Train" service has made a brief stop at Kilmore Loop waiting for a signal to clear and now continues on it's journey north.

The Countrylink XPT has been in service since 1982, and is based on the InterCity 125 (or Class 43) design used by British Rail. Further information about the XPT is available in the Countrylink factsheet http://www.countrylink.info/travelling_with_us/our_fleet/xpt

Auscision Models have recently announced they will be producing a highly detailed HO scale model of the XPT passenger train, details can be found on their website http://www.auscisionmodels.com.au/
