Steven Wilson - Cut Ribbon (2011)
Per Steven Wilson:
"This song was written for a planned metal style collaboration with Mikael Åkerfeldt in 2001, but this is a more recent version, made during the Grace For Drowning album sessions. Over the last 10 years it's been the orphan song, destined to never fit in with anything else I was doing."

i second that. outtake or not, first version was 'proper' heavy, raw, yet listenable. new mix is 'fixing, what never was broken' . Prolly to make it sound nice on ipods ;)

@rosskolnikov Fine then. The unofficial thing still sounds better than this.

@SekundesC There is no such thing as "Wet Ribbon" and there was never an official In Absentia outtakes album. The song was always "Cut Ribbon" and the demo of it has been around for awhile.

Actually this is the wet ribbon/collapse light into earth extended taken from out absentia ep. It´s really amazing Mr Wilson´s didn´t forget this song and did a remixing! Amazing job btw

@steliospitsillides Not actually what I was implying. I was moreso talking about the overall style and lyrical content of the song. If I were talking about Steven Wilson singing on it, then in that case all of the Blackfield songs would fit in with Porcupine Tree... which doesn't.

This isn't new. The name of this song is Wet Ribbon and is on the In Absentia out takes. This sounds way watered down than what I first heard.
