Alex Simon - Co-Chair of Youth Social Enterprise Network

As part of a greater movement with no real center or name, the Common Ground Youth Coalition is interviewing leading young change-makers to create a snapshot of what young people are doing for their generation nationally, and globally. The goal is to showcase young people from all walks of life who have been successful at making a change in the world, in any sector - public, private, political, religious, social, cultural, non-profit, etc. We hope that our collective work can demonstrate how youth can solve today's issues, work across traditional boundaries, and inspire others to do the same.

As Co-Chair and Founder of the Young Presidents' Organization Youth Social Enterprise Network, Alex Simon connects children of 20,000 of the world's top business leaders with social innovation and philanthropy opportunities. Believing that active, diverse communities of young people are the best vehicles for making change, Alex directs strategy for MFI Connect, the largest global network of students engaged in microfinance activities. Alex recently brought together a record number of student leaders at the annual Microcredit Summit, the largest convening of microfinance leaders. He is currently co-developing the Young Donors Network. Alex is in his third year at the George Washington University, where he mentors other student social entrepreneurs through the Compass Partners Fellowship as they develop high-impact, sustainable ventures.
