  • @darbits2009 No. It is a compressor, with a side chain. Compressors affect the amplitude(volume) of an audio signal. Side chaining means instead of affecting all audio peaks in the mix, the compressor is told when to lower the amplitude by a second signal such as a kick drum. This technique is used in all genres of music, but can be heard most drastically in electronic dance and hip hop music. Any time the beat sounds like it's "pumping" heavily. For examples check out Siriusmo and J Dilla...

  • @darbits2009 you shouldn't be watching this video if you don't know the answer to your own question.

butt ill tell you anyway. it's not synth (with an Y not an I) it's not effects, well, partially because it enhances the sound in a certain way. this is just a multiband compressor, which means you can compress different frequency ranges instead of all frequencies. this multiband compressor is connected to something like a volume detector, in FL it is known as: peak controller.

  • If you listen closely, it pulls the synth volume down in sync with the kick. You can get a real punchy beat with side chaining on as it really brings out what is normally lost when other frequencies are played over the top. Side-Chaining is not limited to just the beat. You can use it to heaps of things when producing. I highly recommend looking deeper into this if your producing music. I see it as an essential for any producer.

  • wath is it?? effects?? or sinth

  • go and make it better jumpandbumpspast
