  • I know he hung around and played with Hendrix before they hit the big time, and I can hear the Hendrix influence, but I always thought Randy had his own distinct, acid drenched sound. Both were great, both R. I. P.

  • @CelticReject what dont you like? its a great guitar song with a pretty unique combination of hendrix and his playing in Spirit.

  • @paul1967uk Yeah, but the only great musician in the Beatles was Paul McCartney and I've been listening to GOOD MUSIC before you were an itch in your dad's crotch, and Randy C., Spirit, etc., where phenoms. Fred Mercury was just a tinkerbell in gold lame', while Elvis didn't even write his own songs. I liked Hard to Rumba in a Rumble Seat, though.

  • man, we used to listen to this in high school in 73-74 if you dont like this then you were on the debate tm or in the high school band, you sucked and had no imagination. im 54 yrs old and my fave bands are Down and Tool, what that means is your never too old to rock

  • @gahrzahk Well said... Btw, Hendrix nicknamed Randy with his last name when they played together in Jimmy James & the Blue Flames in 1966, when there were 2 randy's in the band and he was from Cali... Randy's and Jimi's influences definitely co-exist...listen to some of the famous "Tampa Jam" Sessions from the double LP "Spirit of '76" and "Son of Spirit" and you can hear what we refer to as the Hendrix-sound which maybe should be referred to as the Randy California-sound of Hendrix!

  • Everyone who likes this tune should check out the Spirit album "The Adventures Of Kaptain Kopter & Commander Cassidy in Potato Land", especially the track "Turn To The Right" , one of my faves ! I'll always remember seeing Randy doing a blinding version on 'The Old Grey Whistle Test' many moons ago !

  • why is music controversial to some people? It's just a tune, dude! I saw Randy with Spirit supporting Wishbone Ash in the 80's. Honestly - this band was totally kicking, Randy was as cool as a breeze. I love this track, personally!

  • @dancandell FUCK OFF YOU STUPID BRIT COCK SUCKER ASS FUCK!

  • @paul1967uk All the artists you named werte known for vocals . The Beatles and Elvis sucked when it came to their music. They couldn't jam at all. John Lennon jammed a little when he went solo. They easily didn't compare to other guitarists such as Randy, Hendrix, Clapton, Page or Alvin Lee. I couldn't stand the Beatles or Elvis. Name one of their songs with a good guitar solo. I can't.

  • @ridusofthetonedeaf This crap is for junkies, compare the results when you google Randys name to Freddie Mercury, Elvis, The Beatles, etc. They win everytime. You have to be on acid to like this crap.

  • @paul1967uk How dare YOU, A WANKER who couldnt play 3 notes,COMMENT ON THE GENIUS OF RANDY CALIFORNIA??Always a nipper with a chip on your shoulder, why not fix your problem?Get the penile enlargement surgery you know you need!!
